Charly’s Typewriter Collection and Repair will host a Type-In at Literati Bookstore in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on August 4, 2918. Literati is home to the new book, Notes From a Public Typewriter, and has a wide variety of typewriters on display.
This drop-in event is scheduled for 7-8:30 p.m. and is free and open to all ages. Newcomers to the typosphere can learn all abut various machines, and typewriter enthusiasts are invited to bring their own to share. All are welcome to try several different makes and models and enjoy an evening of “digital detox.”
Basics like how to change a ribbon and other typewriter repair tips will be offered throughout the evening. Come contribute to our Round Robbin stories or type up your own short story! Don’t forget to leave your own message on the Public Typewriter!
RSVP to the event at TypeInAtLiterati.splashthat.com. Contact Charly at TheTypewriterCollector (at) gmail (dot) com with any questions. We hope to see you there!
We hope to be there.

Misfortune comes our way. Good fortune really. Only mis is this evening’s type-in. We will not be able to attend.
Too much going on with the possibility of a new position, and needing any extra to head to West for our daughter’s wedding.

it was a very well attended event, lots of young people, and a great space! I hope Literati hosts another type-in.
